The transfer process may vary depending on a few different factors, such as the prior TPA. We recommend discussing this process with your Client Success Specialist. To properly advise, your Client Success Specialist will need:
- The name of your prior TPA and their contact information
- The name of the prior TPA’s banking partner and their contact information
- The approximate number of accounts to transfer
Since HSAs are owned by the participant, they may need to be involved in the transfer process and sign off on the transfer.
Transferring HSA account balances can take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete. During this time, any new funds would be immediately available as they are posted. Only the funds being transferred may be delayed by the 4-6 week transfer process. This timeline will vary depending on the prior banking partner and time of the year.
