Add a Qualified Beneficiary (Video)

Steps

  1. From your COBRA account, click Add Member located on the lower, right-hand side of the page
  2. Click next in the Qualified Beneficiary box in the center of the page
  3. Fill in the required fields (marked by a red asterisk) and any other information desired, click next
  4. Fill in the required fields (marked by a red asterisk) and any other information desired
  5. On the question: Has this member already been offered COBRA? Select No
  6. Click Save & Continue
  7. Click Add Plan
  8. In the window that appears, choose the Direct Bill Participant’s Plan from the drop-down menu that says: Plan From the “Coverage Level” drop-down menu, select coverage. Click Save
  9. Repeat steps 7-8 for any additional plans that you need to add
  10. Click Save & Continue
  11. Click Add Dependent to add any dependents to the plan
  12. Fill in the required fields (marked by a red asterisk) and any other information desired
  13. Under “Available Dependent Plan(s)” select the box next to the plan in which you want to add the dependent and click Add Selected Dependent Plan(s)
  14. Click Add
  15. Repeat steps 11-14 for any additional dependents that need to be added, click Save & Continue
  16. (Optional) Click Add Subsidy Schedule If you will not be adding a subsidy, skip to step 19 below
  17. Fill in the required fields (marked by a red asterisk) and any other information desired, click add
  18. Repeat steps 16-17 as needed
  19. Click Save & Continue
  20. If there is a Letter Insert required for your state, select the letter(s), click Save & Continue
  21. Click Add Member to complete the process
