Webinar Follow-Up: Your Top Questions Answered
Thank you to everyone who joined our recent webinar on the Flex Renewal process! We appreciate your engagement and the thoughtful questions you asked. To make things easier, we’ve compiled answers to the most common questions raised during the session below.
1. Does the CAA Bundle Help Both Level-Funded and Self-Funded Groups?
Yes. The CAA Bundle is designed to support all Ameriflex clients, including both level-funded and self-funded groups.
The Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) Bundle from Ameriflex is designed to help employers comply with the transparency and reporting requirements established under the CAA. These rules apply broadly to employer-sponsored health plans, regardless of their funding source.
By using the CAA Bundle, both types of groups can streamline their compliance process because Ameriflex handles much of the heavy lifting, reducing administrative burden, ensuring accuracy, and helping protect against penalties for non-compliance.
2. How Do You Edit Your Renewal After Completing It?
If you need to make changes after completing all of your renewal steps, including submitting enrollments, please contact your designated Client Relationship Team. Edits must be completed prior to the plan start date.
3. What Enrollment Methods Are Available?
Ameriflex offers several options for submitting enrollments:
- Spreadsheet Upload – You upload a completed spreadsheet template with all required participant information, and Ameriflex processes it on your behalf.
- Online Enrollment – Employees self-enroll online using Ameriflex’s participant portal (not available for groups including an HRA or HSA in their renewal).
- Portal Enrollments – Administrators enter participant information directly into the Ameriflex employer portal (not available for groups including an HRA or HSA in their renewal).
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) – Enrollment data is transmitted automatically and securely from your payroll or benefits system to Ameriflex.
Important: Depending on the plans included in your renewal, not all enrollment options may be available. Your Client Relationship Team can help you determine which enrollment method works best for your group.
4. Is Intellect Available to All Employees?
Yes! Intellect is available to all eligible employees. You, as the client, provide Ameriflex with a list of eligible employees during your renewal.
5. Is There an Additional Cost for the CAA Bundle (Telescope + Intellect)?
Yes. The CAA Bundle costs $2 per enrollee per month (PEPM).
6. Do Clients Pay Only for Employees Who Use Telescope/Intellect?
No. The cost applies to all eligible employees, regardless of whether they choose to use the services.
7. Can Eligible Employees Use Telescope/Intellect Even If They Did Not Elect an Ameriflex-Offered Plan?
Yes! Eligible employees may use Telescope and Intellect even if they did not enroll in an Ameriflex-offered plan.
8. What Does PEPM Mean?
PPPM stands for Per Participant (or Enrollee) Per Month and represents the cost per individual per month for the service.
